Show Me, Don’t Tell Me… User Interface Design

I’ve been thinking a lot about the subtle ways User Interface design can ‘tell’ the user how they are supposed to interact with the application.  Isn’t there a better way than just text, or warning dialogs?

Google, Yahoo, and Microsoft Search Engine Sitemaps

The Yahoo! blog made a VERY interesting announcement, see below. This should be beneficial for all of you webmasters out there.

Yahoo!, Google and Microsoft will be announcing support for Sitemaps, a free open-source software tool that allows web-site owners to make their site’s content more easily discoverable by search engines — and therefore improve your search results.

I always forget which key shortcuts do screen captures on my Mac. Instead of mashing all the keys until I see the crosshairs, maybe it’s time to learn them…
